Your role as an Incident Investigator:
You will be responding to security and medical incidents in need of a documented report and ensure that an objective report is documented by interviewing the subject and all witnesses to the incident. You will be responsible for including all incident reports into 24/7 Incident Management software and ensuring all reports are completed at the end of an event.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
Exemplifying our Petco Park Promise CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by consistently providing a ballpark experience that exceeds guests’ expectations by using good judgement and common sense without compromising facility safety and security
Launching investigations to seek and record all the facts on an Incident Report for proper documentation
Obtaining, through investigation, all the necessary information to provide a complete, thorough, and accurate report to be submitted to the 24/7 dispatch queue for review, follow-through, and completion
Acting quickly in emergency response, which could potentially include injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, arrests
Communicating and documenting verbal communication from all internal and external guests
Roving all areas of Petco Park to include parking garages, guest entry points, concourses, restaurants, premium spaces, and event-related areas
Continuously improving your understanding and knowledge of the ballpark, baseball, and the Padres organization to engage and assist our guests
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
Being consistent, punctual, and having reliable attendance
Being proficient in the use of an iPad. Having experience in 24/7 Software (Incident Management System) is a plus
Having experience in 24/7 Software (Incident Management System) is a plus
Knowing basic safety policies and practices with the ability to convey such understanding to others
Being personable, enthusiastic, positive, and professional, with the ability to keep that same composure in a fast-paced, large-crowd environment
Having excellent communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations
Possessing a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
Having a strong ability to work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
CPR/First Aid/AED certified is a plus
You will be required to meet the following:
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
Minimum 1-year previous experience with risk mitigation and identifying risk exposure
Minimum physical requirements: able to actively move about the ballpark and gain access to various areas for prolonged periods of time, up to the complete duration of shifts, and in all inclement weather, including rain and/or direct sunlight; able to ascend/descend stairs and lift and/or transport up to 50 pounds
Available to work at least 50% of Padres home games
Must be available for at least three (3) Special Events per month, with a minimum of one (1) event that falls on a holiday per year including but not limited to July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Halloween, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day etc.
As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Pay and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the pay rate for this position is $32.00 per hour. Part- time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
