The Digital Artist/Graphic/Layout Designer/Illustrator is responsible for creating digital design concepts, graphic design concepts, illustrations, document design, programming Rise and Storyline projects, and motion graphics for ETSI products and various in-house assignments. This position also works with the Principal Designer to design proposal art and digital platform project visions. 

The Digital Artist/Graphic/Layout Designer/Illustrator’s primary responsibilities are: 

• Create and modify documents in Adobe InDesign, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Rise, and Storyline, as well as other programs as directed

• Collaborate with ETSI staff to design and produce innovative graphics for client projects, including product creation/design at the proposal stage, front-end interaction platform interface design, style guide creation, motion graphics, infographics, medical illustration, covers, and marketing/promotional materials

• Serve as designer for assigned clients and manage all art-related project components, including client and ETSI style; match other designer’s style while assisting with projects to maintain continuity

• Follow correct ETSI process

• Manage multiple projects at various stages of completion, correctly prioritize tasks and assignments, and communicate clearly and promptly with team members to meet daily deadlines

• Carry out Editor and QC comments and instructions as directed

• Maintain file structure for projects on Art server

• Collaborate with Creative Team Manager and Principal Designer to determine appropriate deadlines for projects

• Actively participate in meetings and training sessions with focus toward Art tasks and requests

• All other duties as assigned

The ideal Digital Artist/Graphic/Layout Designer/Illustrator candidate will have the following competencies:

• Proficient in the use of Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects; basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript knowledge a plus; experience in UX/UI a plus; knowledge of Rise, Storyline, and other Creative Suite programs a plus

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team

• Ability to understand and follow ETSI house styles, and to maintain familiarity as they evolve

• Document design (interactive pdfs, workbook-like modules, PowerPoints): Ability to understand and follow changes to styles and formats as required on a client-specific basis; ability to ask appropriate questions regarding templates and styles to ensure consistency with client specifications and within learning systems

• Creativity and ability to translate flat scientific concepts into the most appropriate form of media, design large- and small-scale concepts for interactive digital platforms (eg, create clear sitemaps), conceptualize information into infographics, design/animate motion graphics, and create medical art/anatomical drawings

• Understanding of print processes and electronic media requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to appropriately balance detail with deadlines

• Highly developed organizational and time management skills

• Ability to stay on task and meet daily deadlines

• Flexibility; capacity to adapt to changing schedules and tight deadlines

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to accept constructive criticism and handle stress in a professional manner

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in graphic design or equivalent art school training or work experience
